What you should watch out for in WPIAL Sports for May 5, 2025: Spring Sports Ramp Up Playoff Push while the season is taking off

Welcome to the last week of the regular season in WPIAL BASHELAL, softball, lacrosse and boys volleyball.

In the district baseball, things are close near the top of the sections of class 5a 1 and 2.

In Section 1, although it doesn't look like there is a four-way draw as in the last spring, only one game separates the three best teams.

Plum comes first with a section data set of 9-1, and latrobe and penn-trafford are 8-2. Franklin Regional is in fourth place with a section of 6-4.

All four have won WPIAL Playoff lying places.

At the beginning of the final section series on Monday, Latrobe Plum and Penn-Trafford Franklin visited Regional.

In section 2, only first place in Bethel Park at 9-3 in sects and in the second place Peters Township at 6-4 post-season places.

South Fayette and Upper St. Clair are 5-5, Trinity and Moon are 4-6 and Charters Valley is 3-7.
