Nans asks FG to sack the heads of culpable institutions

• I almost have wine
• Fuoye denies participation in the illegal deduction

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANs) has asked the federal and state governments to remove the heads of the tertiary facilities that have miscalculated the management of the student loan scheme of the Nigerian educational loan (NELFUND).
This happens when the agency will meet all presidents of the student union government (SUG) of the Nigerian campus and the national managers of the NANS executives in Abuja on Thursday. The former Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan (UI), Prof. Olufemi Bamiro, has expressed sadness about abusing the Nelfund loan.
However, the administration of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (Fuoye), the state of Ekiti, refused to participate in illegal deductions from funds from the loans. The agency's meeting with students is to discuss the implementation of the system and concern with regard to alleged deductions of some tertiary facilities, the double collection of institutional fees and the rejection of the relevant to the relation of the relief, the conspiracy with banks and the advancement of payout announcements, among other things to make profits.
The newly elected President of Nans, Olushola Ladoja, spoke in a media parley in Abuja at the weekend and said that the actions of the institutions could impair President Bola Tinubu's obligation to ensure integrative access to the training by the loan scheme.
He praised the initiative and emphasized that they drastically reduce school leavers and improved access to education for pupils with low incomes.
Ladoja announced that his team previously with the Minister of Education Dr. Tunji Alausa and the managing director of Nelfund, Akintunde Sawyerr, had met to register her symptoms.
He said both guides assured them that their symptoms were addressed. Bamiro said he almost cried when he read the story about the mismanagement of the loan. In a conversation with the Guardian in Ibadan, the state of Oyo, the former VC became the development and complained about the poor quality of leadership in every facet of life in Nigeria.
He said: “In order to run for some contributions, I will recommend that the minimum that the person must have is a graduate. The person should be a solid graduate. There must be a minimum; this is the only thing the boys can see seriously to take their training in political leadership.
“I almost cried when I read that NELFUND was abused by universities. The government is still trying to help some of these students, then messed up. When we talk about leadership, people always look at the political leaders. The academic sector also has to change.

The NELFUND program was founded on April 3, 2024, when Tinubu signed the student loans (access to university formation) (cancellation and revenue) for the law in order to provide students in public tertiary institutions.
However, some Nigerian universities have supposedly held money on illegal for students. In particular, no fewer than 51 Tertiary institutions were accused of supposedly cheating the students by not making any authorized deductions from the NELFUND loans.
Fuoye was listed among over 50 institutions that were accused of illegally ₦ 3,500 ₦ 30,000 ₦ 30,000 from the loans after receipt. But at the weekend in the name of the Fuoye management, the public work officer Foluso Ogunmodede dismissed the allegations as wrong and an attempt to cloud the university's call.
According to him, the university never had exploitation of students or non -authorized deductions from the loans paid. Ogunmodede explained that the central bank of Nigeria (CBN) had not pursued any illegal payments from NELFUND to the accounts of the university.
He said: “As soon as the payment enters our account and the list of beneficiaries is brought into line, we will start reimbursement immediately, even if none of our fee structures are 124,000 N. The claim is wrong and nobody contacted us.”
