Video: The future of renewable energy-plus storage against independent memory in Europe

In Europe, clean horizon experts from Spain, Germany, Sweden and France concentrate and answer the only question that is important to investors: Does it make economically sensible for renewable new, plus storage?

Thanks to the use of its state-of-the-art cosmos simulation tools, Clean Horizon presents examples of an optimal size for hybrid projects in four most important European regions to illuminate the most important variables that should take into account investors.

Variable renewable sources usually do not use a grid capacity, and storage systems can fill the gap nicely. Although hybrid projects are naturally more complex than more independent, the share of network connections and the optimization of land use can be significant advantages in the future, especially if they are properly dimensioned.

In addition, hybrid projects generally reduce grid fees for the storage system, as it is reduced from the power that is loaded from the network into the battery. The integration of memory with solar and wind energy helps to reduce the intermittenz, which means that energy systems are more resistant and able to satisfy demand.

In recent years we have observed a significant shift in the profitability of hybrid projects of renewable energies. The business case for hybrid systems has changed due to several factors, including the falling costs of BES and the development of negative price scenarios on the energy markets.

In addition, developing market dynamics have introduced both opportunities and risks for hybrid projects. In this context, we examine potential sources of income in various markets, including support services as well as energy trade as well as income from the available capacity mechanisms that can significantly improve the life capability of the project.
