The pedestrian, who was fatally hit by a alleged Dui driver in Manhattan Beach in the early Sunday morning, was identified as a high school senior, which was just a few months before the end.

The incident occurred shortly after 12:45 p.m. in the 100 block of the South Sepulveda Boulevard, according to Manhattan Beach's police authority.

The officials arrived to the scene and found the victim, which was taken to a nearby hospital, where they were later declared dead.

As an 18-year-old Braun Levi, an 18-year-old student at the Loyola High School, he was identified by school administration.

“With profound sadness, we will inform you about the death of Braun Levi, class from 2025, who lost his life in a vehicle accident last night,” says a statement by the LHS director Jamal K. Adams. “Braun was a bright presence in our Loyola family and brought everyone he touched, light, joy and inspiration.”

An Instagram post from the school's sports department said that Braun was a four-year-old starter for her tenni team and “consolidated himself as one of the experienced student athletes in the program history”.

Family and friends gathered on Sunday evening to honor Braun with a vigil, where dozens of flowers and photos adorned a corner of the intersection, where the fatal crash took place.

The police arrested the driver, the 33-year-old Los Angeles wife Jenia Belt, under suspicion, to drive under influence and murder.

The investigation remains.
