News of the Supreme Court

New -Delhi:

On Monday, the Supreme Court underlined its determination of protecting no person who broke out in Manipur in Manipur in May 2023.

A bank cited by Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna said this when she heard a plea for receiving violence from the Kuki Organization for Human Rights Confidence or Kohur for a judicial investigation against ex-chief minister N Biren Singh because of the leakage of audio clips, in which he supposedly founded violence.

The remark was made after Attorney General Tushar Mehta, who appeared for the central government, questioned the credibility of the Kohur and described it as a “rookie” group.

However, the court dismissed such arguments and emphasized: “We are not concerned. Let us ignore the petent … but if something is wrong, we don't have to protect the false maker.”

In today's hearing, the bank led by Chief Justice became a report on the authenticity of these audio clips from the central forensic laboratory. The report was requested by the court after the government questioned the credibility of a previous report from a private laboratory.

The content of the report – sealed for the court – was not published, but after examination the court said that he had to “talk to her officers about it”.

“I didn't see it … Must answer content,” said Mr. Mehta, to whom the court said, “read the content and then speak (with the government). Please examine and bring new report.”

The court then stated for the next hearing from July 21st and found that in the meantime the investigation against N Biren Singh will continue and that this will take about a month.

“Now we have the rule of the president … it shouldn't be a problem,” said the top judge.

The former Kohur, represented by the lawyer Prashant Bhushan, described the content of the leaks as “very serious affair”, and said that Mr. Singh was supposedly heard that Meitei groups are allowed to loot weapons and ammunition of the state.

The petent quoted a report from a private laboratory -truth laboratory -in which a 93 percent agreement between the voice on the ribbons and that by ex -chief minister Biren Singh was confirmed.

“The reports from Truth Labs are much more reliable than the FSL reports,” BHushan had argued.

However, the government's lawyer questioned the correctness of Truth Labs report.

More than 260 people were killed and thousands have been expelled since ethnic violence between the Meitei community and the Kuki tribes broke out in May 2023.

Mr. Bhushan claimed that the recorded conversation showed the complicity and participation of the state machinery in the violence against the KUKI ZO community.

And Kohurs Plädoyer claimed that Mr. Singh, who resigned in February, was decisive in the climb, organization and then the large -scale murder, the destruction and other forms of violence against the areas dominated by Kuki in Manipur.
