Memorial baseball game, which was held to honor the victims of fatal West Babylon, Long Island Crash,

West Babylon, Long Island (WABC) – A memorial baseball game took place on Sunday in honor of the victims and survivors of a fatal crash on Long Island.

The police say Michael Desmond led a light in West Babylon in September and hit a car with five teenagers. Two of them – Bella Trezza and Riley Goot – died together with Desmond.

Anthony Pagliuca, one of the survivors, threw out the ceremonial first pitch. It was nothing less than a miracle.

“God is the greatest Redeemer for me. Doctors and family helped. It is a miracle,” said Pagliuca.

Pagliuca clung to life seven months ago. On Sunday, the 17-year-old athlete not only threw the first place in West Babylon, but also stayed as a starting jug on the hill.

“Never give up. Always work back on things you love. I love baseball. If you have the chance to come back, you have to do that,” he said.

Last September, a group of young friends drove home when another car in West Babylon blew past a red light and had the young victims T-Bon.

Pagliuca made it together with Jack Murphy and Austin Trezza, who lost his sister Bella.

In the memorial game between West Babylon and St. Anthony's, the three young survivors took the hill with the photos of the two that were killed.

There was a moment of silence and then it was time to play ball.

“I said Anthony that he has a second chance in life. His job is to be the best he can be for Bella and Riley,” said his mother Keri Pagliuca.

Doctors from Northwell Health said Pagliuca had several fractures of his neck, pelvis and long bones and considerable injuries from the inside. His chance of survival was weak.

“It's not about winning or losing. Only enjoy the moment,” said Pagliuca, who will visit college in autumn.

Pagliuca does not remember the accident – he will need more therapy for memory. The therapy will wait for the baseball season to end.
