Firefighter injured while he saves pet from Norwalk Apartment Fire

Norwalk, Conn. (Wfsb) – A fireman suffered minor injuries when he saved a pet during a fire in Norwalk late Sunday evening.

The fire brigade reacted to a two -story residential building at 10:42 p.m. to a two -story residential building after receiving a report on a fire in the bathroom ceiling of a unit on the first floor.

On arrival, firefighters found flames in a wall between units on the first floor and in the ceiling between the first and second floor.

A total of 29 employees answered and brought the fire under control within 35 minutes, officials said.

Two units on the first floor suffered fire and smoke damage.

All occupants evacuated safely and several pets were saved from the building.

A fireman was injured when he had removed a pet from the apartment, but according to the authorities, no residents were injured.

The cause of the fire is examined by the Norwalk Fire Marshal Division.
