Homewood Flossmoor High School Senior Tom Mya Lyons killed by Bishop Ford Freeway Crash

Calumet City, Ill. (WLS) – A Homewood Flossmoor High School student was killed on Sunday morning on Sunday morning on Bishop Ford Freeway.

ISP reacted to a collapse with a vehicle around 4:31 a.m. on the Sibley Boulevard ramp to the I-94 to the north.

Only one person was in the vehicle. ISP said they were taken to a regional hospital in which they were declared dead.

Officials from the Homewood Fossmoor High School identified the victim as Tom Mya Lyons, a senior at the school.

In a message to employees, students and family, superintendent Dr. Scott Wakely and headmistress Dr. Clinton Alexander: “We are expanding Tom Mya's family. Our hearts go out to you while dealing with this tragic loss. In difficult times like this, the HF family comes together to support each other. We are here for you.”
