Johnell Davis earns an invitation to the NBA G-League Elite Camp

Former Arkansas-Wachmann Johnell Davis received an invitation to the NBA G-League Elite Camp, according to a report by Michael Scotto von ESPN.

Davis is one of 44 players who were invited to the camp, which gives him the opportunity to train for NBA scouts, trainers and managers. It will take place in Chicago from May 9th to 11th, and a selected number of players from the camp is invited to the NBA design based on the performance.

If Davis does enough to make an invitation to the NBA design, he will be the fourth razor paint with the combine harvester. His teammates Boogie Fland, Karter Knox and Adou Thiero were all invited to the design on Friday.

Davis spent a season in Arkansas after playing in Florida Atlantic for four years and dealt with a wrist injury that he had suffered in the low season after falling a golf car. This injury disabled his ability to achieve a large part of the season, but he turned his game late in the season.

Last season Davis played in 34 games and scored an average of 12 points and 3.4 rebounds per game for the pigs. In his last 11 games, however, this value rose to 15.8 points, including a 30-point rating outbreak in the last season game of the HOGS, a defeat against Texas Tech in Sweet 16.

In this last game he scored three 3 points, got a perfect 11-of-11 out of the Charity Stripe and added six rebounds in 39 minutes.

After the end of the season, Davis published a thank-you message on his Instagram account and sometimes said: “The past year was an incredible experience and Arkansas will always feel like another home for me.”

Now Davis' focus will be on the NBA design of 2025, which takes place on June 25th and 26th in the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
