Google Adsense does not allow you to block video game ads

Google Adsense eliminates the possibility of blocking the advertising category of video games. So if you have said Adsense beforehand that you should not show any advertisements with video games on your website or in your apps, this block will soon not be respected.

Google will no longer respect the controls on May 15th and then by June 15, which will no longer respect this guideline and show advertisements on the subject of video games.

Google wrote:

From May 15, 2025, we will start removing the sensitive category “video games (casual & online)” from the blocking of the control elements. As soon as this happens, you cannot block advertisements from video games, online games and downloadable games with the sensitive category “video games (casual & online)”.

Google added:

On May 15, 2025, we add a “outdated” label to the category “Video Games (Casual & Online)” in your blocking controls. From June 15, 2025, their existing blocks no longer apply. Note that you can continue to use the general categories “Video Games, Consoles & Accessories” and “Online games & puzzles” or their subcategories to block advertisements from video games, online games and downloadable games if you believe that these types of ads are unsuitable for your users.

If you advertise video games, of course, you may see further impressions in the future.
