BMW M350 and i3 sedans in the Nürburgring: Video

Regardless of whether you are petrol or electrical in a team, BMW covered it. The next 3 Series offers something for everyone, including customers who are interested in plug-in hybrids and even diesel engines. Two different aromas of the luxury sedan were caught in the Nürburgring. In the legendary German trail, the new models, the “G50” and “Na0”, are going through intensive tests.

You can see how strikingly similar the prototypes look. Obviously, the camouflaged sedan with quad tubes is the gas model. No, it is not a M3, but the M Performance version. We have heard that BMW changes the name of the M340i car to M350 to reflect on a power base on an unconfirmed 417 hp. This would be an increase in the current US model by 31 HP and a bump of 17 hp compared to the European version.

The purely electric i3 has a shorter front section, although this is more difficult in this dynamic film material. The easiest way to recognize the zero emission model is the license plate, which ends in “E” and the yellow high-voltage sticker on the upper left corner of the rear glass. There are no blows around the bush – the car seems difficult and there is noticeable body role. However, it is best not to assess a car at the beginning of its test phase.

After all, the i3 will only start at some point next year, even if the eighth generation 3 series is programmed so that it arrives. M versions of both models are already in the pipeline as “ZA0” and “G84”, although they only arrive later this decade. When the cladding releases, the M3 and which name, the BMW gives the M-Branded i3, will look almost identical. This is not speculation; It comes from an official statement by the NEE great program leader Mike Reichelt.

The 3 and i3 will also share “digital functions” with the new iDrive system as a heart. Expect a 17.9-inch center touchscreen and a minimal physical switchgear. A dashboard wide projection (panoramic view view) at the base of the windshield is standard in the entire installation. An optional 3D head-up display is also planned to compensate for the removal of the traditional instrument cluster.

BMW will build the i3 in Munich, where it has produced the 3 Series since the E21 half a century ago. However, the new 3 Series will probably be produced in Dingolfing, since the historical work in Munich will switch to EV production entirely from 2027.
