NJ motorcyclists killed, the passenger seriously injured when crashed

A motorcyclist was killed and his passenger was seriously injured last week in an accident in Salem County.

The 63 -year -old William Philippi from Blackwood drove east on the Route 540 in Pittsgrove on April 27 at 1 p.m. when he lost control of his motorcycle and, according to a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police, rose the rear of another motorcycle to the east.

The Philippi vehicle ran from the street, in a dam and in a thick Briar patch, the police said. Philippi and his passenger, a 62-year-old Blackwood woman, were thrown out of the bike.

Philippi was killed and his passenger suffered serious injuries, the police said.

No additional details were announced. The crash is being examined, the police said.
