Rising of the hate crimes Topic of the forum in West Hartford

West Hartford, CT – No city is immune to hate crimes, where breed, religion and gender motivate perpetrators, to commit hideous actions.

This week, West Hartford is organizing a special “community discussion” about hate crimes with state and local law enforcement authorities.

It will take place on Thursday, May 8, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the West Hartford Town Hall Auditorium, 50 S. Main St., West Hartford.

The organizers said that hate crimes had risen steadily in Connecticut in recent years.

Ronnell A. Higgins, Prosecutor of Chief State, Patrick J. Griffin, chief of police from West Hartford, Vernon Riddick, and the members of the investigative unit of Hass crimes of the Connecticut State Police are expected to be on Thursday.

The guests are invited to be a discussion about how the state and the communities react.

The learning learned how hate crimes identify, registered and examined – and how they can play a role in preventing them.

Such crimes have the legal spectrum and range from anti -Semitic graffiti to physical attacks by people with color.

In April 2024 in West Hartford, a swastika at the Hall High School was found on a bathroom wall.
