2 people, dog killed in a small plane crash in the Simi Valley

Two people and a dog died after a small one-motor plane crash in the Simi Valley.

The crash occurred on Saturday afternoon at around 2 p.m. along the 200 block of the High Meadow Street.

The surveillance video shared with FOX 11 shows the moment of the effects and flames between two houses.

No people were injured on the ground from the crash.

“We started to circle an airplane over it and then determined the plane outside the clouds,” said Arman Hovakemian.

Hovakemian said he noticed that the plane was in trouble and warned his wife.

“I saw the plane when it was upside down,” said Amy Hovakemian. “I'm like, okay, it doesn't look good.”

Then a massive influence on the Hovakemian house. Flames spread to her house and that of her neighbor.

“I just heard a loud bang and an explosion,” said Arman Hovakemian. “I turned around and saw a part of the plane, a piece of hull in the courtyard. I took the hose and started putting water on the plane and thought I could get the fire out.”

Firefighters from Ventura County laid the flames in the houses, but both are badly damaged.

According to law enforcement, the aircraft pilot, a passenger and a dog on board died of the crash.

The Vans RV-10 kit aircraft started on Saturday afternoon by Lancaster and was bound to Camarillo Airport when something went wrong.

The NTSB was on site on Saturday evening to conduct an examination of the fatal crash.

The names of the victims were not published publicly.

One of the residents affected by the aircraft missed a dog who got out during the home fire.

The cause of the crash is examined.
