Four wounded in Oakland shootings

Oakland – Four men were wounded in various areas of the city in a number of shootings between Sunday afternoon and early Monday, the authorities said.

All victims were in a stable state.

The police said the shootings don't seem to be related.

Around 3:44 a.m. Monday, a 39-year-old man was shot in the 1500 block of 11th Avenue in East Oakland. The shooting activated a firing warning system.

The man told the police that he ran by bike in 11th Avenue when a vehicle drove up and an inmate exit and shot him. The shooter then fled on foot and the remaining residents of the vehicle drove away.

A motive for the shootout is examined. No arrests were made.

Around 12:09 p.m. Monday, a 21-year-old man was shot into his foot in the 700 block of the Market Street in West Oakland. This shootout also activated a gunfire system alarm.

The man was able to take his own transport to a hospital. A motive for the shootout is examined and no arrests were made.

Around 12:08 p.m. Monday, a 38-year-old man was shot in the Bancroft Avenue area and the Foothill Boulevard in East Oakland.

Officials who reacted to a firing system alarm found the man with a shoulder wound and he was taken to a hospital.

The police said the man was uncooperative and they try to find out why the man was shot and who shot him.

The shootout on Sunday occurred around 1:22 p.m. and also had the 47-year-old man, who was also arrested, also arrested, the authorities said.

The authorities said that the first reports were that the man on the 23rd Avenue near the International Boulevard in East Oakland when he got into a shootout with an inmate of another vehicle.

The 47-year-old man was injured in his hand and was able to drive in the 1700 block of the East 12th Street, where the police found him, the authorities said.

The man had a gun in his possession and was arrested in the hospital in which he was brought into, said the authorities.

Descriptions of the other shooter and the vehicle in which they stood were not released.
