Indianapolis – You have probably heard complaints about plea or probation about serious crimes. Marion County's prosecutor, Ryan Mears, says his office is concentrating on the achievement of real results – and is responsible for violent criminals and at the same time helps those who have to deal with addiction or psychological health problems.

“If we deal with people in the punitive justice system who are due to psychological health problems, due to addiction problems or due to residential problems in this system, what can we do to try to solve this problem?” Mears said Indy Politics Dot Org.

Mears also emphasized that the Indianapolis Metro Police will solve more cases and, thanks to the strong cooperation between the municipality and the prosecution, pursue more crimes.

“The community reports and is able to hold people accountable,” he added.

However, Mears noticed a worrying trend, especially in terms of young people who were involved in violent crimes.

“One of the greatest things is that we saw that it is a change in the murder,” he said. “Many people are now their first criminal charges for murder and a large part of them come from wokeless streets and self -defense. But it is also a reflection whose crimes are involved and more and more that young people are involved.”

Mears would not say whether he is considering a run for the mayor of Indianapolis. Instead, he says that he has focused on strengthening the relationship of his office and community.
