Ford Maverick Hybrids replace the classic Wildwood road vehicles

“Please look at the Ford Maverick Hybrid” because it looks like the Old School Wildwood Tram Cars drive the path of the Dodo bird and passenger couple:

The video above was on the Facebook and IG pages “Wildwood Boardwalk” and comes from Joey Contino, a digital guy who reports on many Jersey Shore things.

Otherwise there is not much information from what I can explain. It seems that people see these trucks on the promenade during the test runs and publish on social and reddit and react. The only story from a media company comes from the 107.3 Cat County from Townsquare on the shore, which says that these trucks will go into service from this Saturday, May 10th. The different chatter makes it look as if the classic tram vehicles are just as old and difficult to use and maintainable. Difficult to find 70 years later, but we will see whether we can confirm that this is the main reason for the change.

My first thought is that hopefully nobody will go through one of these things on the promenade. They are compact pickups and a little smaller than Ford Rangers. The second thought is that this is not well received because we are parochial habit creatures and we do not like changes. We want Wildwood and Sea Isle and Avalon to look the same and did 30, 40, 50 years ago.
