Jessie Kirk Mord: Death penalty wanted against suspects

The man who is accused of having killed a beloved Titusville woman in March could face the conviction of the death penalty, the officials said on Monday.

New details:

In a press release, civil servants said that prosecutor William Scheiner intended to pursue the capital for 35-year-old David Barber, who is charged with kidnapping and murder of Jessie Kirk.

According to the Brevard County Court, the prosecutors submitted a formal message about the intention to apply for the death penalty on May 2.

In the submission, several aggravating factors, including the murder of Kirk, cited for the financial gain that it was “particularly hideous, cruel or cruel” and that they were carried out in a “cold, calculated and intentional way without the existence of moral or legal justification”.

The background story:

On March 4, around 9 a.m., Jessie Kirk, 72, was reported by a friend after not showing up her routine for her usual morning walk along S. Washington Avenue in Titusville.

Kirk was later found dead in Titusville under suspicious circumstances. The police quickly identified Barber as a suspect.

The authorities said that Barber recently had considerable burns on his body, which were remarkable because Kirks burned SUV Lincoln Navigator in Orange County near the State Road 520 and the State Road 50 in the afternoon when it was reported as missing. Not long afterwards Kirk's body was also discovered near the transport channel, which led to further investigations.

In April, a Grand Jury Hairdresser accused the first degree because of a deliberate murder suspicion. Further charges include kidnapping, arson, abuse of a dead human body, great theft of a motor vehicle, burglary, petit theft and two evidence.

What we don't know:

In this case, several questions remain unanswered. The authorities still have to publicly reveal a motive or details about the relationship between Barber and Kirk.

The specific circumstances of each indictment, in particular arson and evidence, have not been publicly described.

Who was Jessie Kirk?

Kirk, a popular community member in Titusville, was active in the local philanthropy and confessed to the cultivation of sunflowers and vegetables that she donated to the needy. She and her late husband were both celebrated for their community contributions.
