Inside rehearsals for wonderful city at Encores!

Now on stage in the New York City Center there is a wonderful city directed by Zhailon Levingston. Wonderful Town with unforgettable melodies such as “Ohio” and “a hundred simple paths to lose a man” is a celebration of what makes New York the largest city in the world – people from all over the world who come to fulfill their dreams.

In 1935, the sisters Ruth, an emerging writer, and Eileen, an emerging actress, from Ohio to Greenwich Village to follow her artistic ambitions, overcome heartache, encounter a selection of colorful characters and ultimately finds love.

“[My character] Tracks her dream of being an actress in New York, “said Aisha Jackson, who plays Eileen.” I did that! I only remember all the nervousness, faith and the trust of moving to New York and realizing a dream. You will literally find Eileen in this position- to leave the house with your sister at your side. “

“It is an astonishing line -up of people. Every day it is really good to be with these people. They are so exquisite talented,” added Anika Noni Rose, who plays Ruth. “I've never done this musical before, and I actually didn't see it because [the last revival] Run at the same time [Caroline, Or Change] Lief. I am used in him for the first time and it is more than an idea! It's exciting, funny and silly. I'm glad not to cry! “

The show has a unique story with the New York city center with previous productions in 1958, 1963, 1966 and in the 2000 -Encores! Production that was transferred to Broadway in 2003.
