Birmingham Police Special Ops make 56 arrests in the action of crime and confiscated weapons and drugs

Birmingham, ala. – The Special Enforcement Division of the Police Authority in Birmingham made 56 arrests between April 28 and May, 2025, as part of its ongoing efforts to improve public security and to reduce crime throughout the city. The arrests were part of targeted enforcement initiatives carried out by the Special Operations Bureau of the Department.

The enforcement effort led to 23 arrests of crimes and 33 arrests of the offense. The officials carried out 261 traffic stops and spent 242 quotes, including 47 for the speed crossing. In addition, nine firearms were confiscated, including a stolen and two changed, and 10 vehicles were confiscated, two were stolen and then restored.

Narcotics that were confiscated during the operations included 64.9 grams of crack cocaine, 5.4 grams of ecstasy (six pills), 266.0 grams of fentanyl, 1382.4 grams of marijuana, 1.0 grams of methamphetamine and 35.0 grams oxycodon (90 pills). The department also confiscated 3,618 US dollars in currency.
