LeBron James will miss the Met Gala 2025 on Monday evening, even though he is one of the event's honorary boards.

The topic for this year is “Superfine: Adaptation to the Black Style,“”And an accompanying exhibition will be accessible to the public on May 10 in the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art.

In a social media contribution, the superstar of Los Angeles Lakers said that because of a knee injury that he had suffered at the end of the regular NBA season, he could not take part.

However, he said the family would be represented by his wife Savannah, whom he called in his post “Queen”:

Unfortunately, because of my knee injury at the end of the season, I can visit the Met Gala in NY this evening because so many people asked and congratulate me! I hate to miss a historical event! My beautiful mighty queen will be there and hold down the castle as she always did!

Kevin Love of the Miami Heat – who played with James when they both were in the Cleveland Cavaliers – followed an important question: “Who is the replacement for injuries?”

James answered dutifully with the updated messages.
