Mother mourns son who was killed at Myrtle Beach

Myrtle Beach, SC (WMBF) -The mother of the 18-year-old, who died on Saturday evening after a shootout with a Myrtle Beach Officer officer, spoke to the 12 sister station WMBF News on Monday.

“I can't eat, I can't sleep, it's a pit in the stomach that just doesn't disappear,” said Jaeishala Fox.

Fox announced how it lasts less than 48 hours after her son Jerrius Davis was killed A shoot along the Ocean Boulvard on Saturday evening.

The police said they were an argument and someone began to shoot a weapon. The Myrtle Beach police authority said that an official also fired his gun.

Michael Howard was there and said the moments afterwards were shaken.

“When I saw everything that happened, I was bad. I was shocked. I didn't know what to do. Everything I could do was only there,” he said.

Fox said she and her husband came from Columbia when someone called her and told her that her son had been shot.

She told MBF News that she received another call later at night in which someone told her to have died.

She said, even though someone she knew she informed her about her son, it would take a few hours before the law enforcement would confirm the death of her son.

“I didn't find anything about my baby. You would not confirm anything. You knew. You knew. You knew. They let me go to different hospitals all around in Myrtle Beach. They knew that it was my baby. They only told me something around 5:20,” said Fox.

Fox said her son was a happy person, loved his family and the life of the party.

She said she didn't think her son would pull out a gun if his life was not in danger.

She said that an emotion is standing out.

“I'm just so angry. I'm angry. I'm hurt. It's just so much. I don't know,” she said.

The investigators did not say whether Davis had a gun or whether he is the one who prompted the officer to fire her weapon.

Fox and Howard experienced this situation differently, but they have one thing in common.

SLED said the investigation was not yet complete and they had no new information from Monday evening.
