The Trump administration asks the court to reject abortion pill case

The Trump administration asked a federal judge on Monday to reject a lawsuit that tries to severely restrict access to the Mifepriston abortion pill -and takes the same position as the bidges administration in a closely observed case that has a major impact on access to abortions.

The judicial ministry's court report is remarkable because President Trump and a number of officials in his administration have violently interpreted the abortion rights. Mr. Trump often boasts that he appointed three of the judges of the Supreme Court, who voted in 2022 to overthrow national rights to abortion. And so far, his administration has taken steps in his second term to contain programs that support reproductive health.

The court registration was for the first time that the Trump administration burdened the lawsuit, the numerous regulatory changes that the Food and Drug Administration had carried out from 2016, which has greatly expanded access to Mifepristone.

The request of the Trump government did not mention the advantages of the case that the courts have not yet taken into account. In the argument that the bidding administration was repeated shortly before Mr. Trump took office, the court submitted that the case should not be fulfilled the legal norms, which is not to be met before the Federal Court of Justice in which it was submitted.

The plaintiffs in this case are the conservative general attorney of three countries: Missouri, Idaho and Kansas, and the case was submitted before a Federal District Court in Texas.

“The states do not deny that their claims have no connection with the northern district of Texas,” wrote the lawyers of the Ministry of Justice in the submission.
