The NHL Draft Lottery 2025 will take place on Monday, May 5th, from the studio of the NHL Network in Secaucus, New Jersey. For the first time in the 30-year history of the event, the NHL shows us the actual lottery balls that are pulled and lead the fans behind the curtain.

How to see the 2025 NHL Draft Lottery:

This is not your weekly Powerball drawing. This is the NHL design of design, which determined the top -16 picks in the NHL design of 2025 at the end of June. The NHL has invited the fans to the process of selecting the top 16 NHL teams, so that there is no funny business behind the scenes.

For decades, the lottery outside the camera took place in an adjoining room with NHL commissioner Gary Bettman, bookholders from Ernst & Young and a small pool of journalists. Then the deputy NHL commissioner Bill Daly would enter the stage and turn the logo cards dramatically and count from 16 to 1. You will hand in the cards and bring them directly into the room.

The NHL design of the NHL was always about keeping things fair, discourage and ensuring that no team is turned up to the size of Connor Bedard on the size of Connor without earning it fairly and square.
