MET GALA 2025 Live updates: Teyana Taylor and Colman Domingo open the carpet with flair

Teyana Taylor Is on the mead that goes beyond the shelf in a custom ensemble that is absolutely full of details. Even better: she designed it even in collaboration with Oscar winner costume designer Ruth E. Carter.

It is not the MET gala until a dramatic train takes these steps, so Taylor makes it official: it is the MET GALA.

Of course, that's not all: a chestnut brown cloak with massively exaggerated shoulders, jeweling decorations, a sash that “Harlem Rose” is inscribed in the script, and an oversized flower is an exaggerated topper, together with cherry red gloves and a coordinating sugar cane.
