FOX 35 examines sovereign citizens after the man was arrested twice in ten days for the same crime

A man who claims to be an American citizen was arrested in ten days for the same crime.
The American State National is another term for “sovereign citizens” extremists against government regulators who do not believe that they are subject to the law.

“Soverägn Clown”, which was arrested twice in two weeks

The background story:

Earl Myers supposedly drove on the car he drove with a hidden day, and the MPs who stopped him, found that he had no driver's license and drove in a car without insurance. In April, the MPs stated that they also found him as a criminal in possession of a semi -automatic pistol and some weeds.

Myers claims that he has not contractually followed state laws with a government.
Sheriff Mike Chitwood says he is afraid of what could happen.

2024, a record year for violent encounters

What we know:

According to the anti-defamation League, in 2024 there was a record for violent encounters between law enforcement officers and sovereign citizens.
Most were in Florida.

In June last year, a man tried to ride his car through a safe goal at the airport in Melbourne – that happened after the police from Palm Bay released a bulletin warning in front of him.
In May 2024, a man opened the fire to MPs in Hamilton County – in North Florida – while trying to fulfill an arrest.
And three weeks earlier, a man shot two MPs from Polk County when they asked him to leave a closed city park.

What we don't know:

Sheriff Chitwood is concerned about the escalation of encounters between law enforcement officers and Myers, but does not know how to prevent crimes.

“It's illegal … and you will be arrested”

What you say:

Sheriff Mike Chitwood says that law enforcement officers train for encounters with people who consider themselves sovereign citizens because they can often become violent.
“When I hear that, my hair gets up because it is not a normal car stop.”

Sheriff Chitwood called the point of view of sovereign citizens – with emphasis that nobody lies above the law, no matter how much someone can say.
“It doesn't fly. It is illegal. You don't have the right to do it and you will be arrested.”

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd has previously spoken about sovereign citizens.
“You are dangerous,” he said.

What's next:

Sheriff Chitwood says he is concerned that things will continue to escalate with Myers. He fears that if he comes out of prison, he fears that law enforcement officers could become violent.

In the meantime, the authorities have asked to keep Myers in prison without bond while waiting for his process.
