Driver who killed the state troops sentenced to 18 years

New Britain, Conn. (Wfsb) – The man who met Connecticut State Trooper Aaron Pelletier during a traffic stop last year was sentenced to 18 years in prison as part of a plea contract.

Alex Oyola-Sanchez, 45, announced on February 25 on February 25th in connection with the meeting point of Interstate 84 in Southington in May 2024 in May 2024.

The 34-year-old Trooper Pelletier carried out a routine traffic stop when he was hit by Oyola-Sanchez, which fled out of the scene.

The conviction has a maximum penalty of 20 years, but Oyola-Sanchez will be born 18 in accordance with the provisions of the plea.

According to the I-Team, Oyola-Sanchez has a violent crime history.

Eight years before the soldier's death, he was convicted of murder of three people in Puerto Rico.

He served a little more than nine years for this murders before his release.

The plea deal has triggered many frustrations, including members of the law enforcement agency and the family of Trooper Pelletier.

The law enforcement officers are expected to take part in the conviction to support the widow and the relatives of Pelletier.
