The Bloomfield police authority, overall the crime in the whole community, continues to show a noticeable decline.

However, the police advise the residents to stay vigilant after several significant theft incidents have been reported between the 13th and 20th April 2025.

The officials answered the following incidents:

– –Vehicle thefts and burglaries:

On April 15, the theft of an unattended vehicle occurred in Newark Avenue, where a wallet with cash and credit cards was stolen. On April 17, a vehicle parked overnight in State Street with a broken window was found and a debit card was reported as missing.

In addition, a MacBook worth 1,300 USD was stolen on April 19 unlocked Vehicle in the Willow Street.

– – Package theft:

A resident of Franklin Street reported the theft of two packages with computer equipment worth over 1,000 US dollars. The packages were missed and examined between April 11th and April 12th.

– –Retail thefts:
On April 16 and 20, the officials reacted to shoplifting from Home Depot and Dollar General, where suspects left the business without making a payment. The studies on these incidents have not yet been completed.

While these incidents represent a small partial activity, the police emphasize the importance of securing personal property, blocking vehicles and calling up the delivered packages immediately to prevent opportunities for theft.

The department attributes the loss of crime against the combined efforts of law enforcement and the proactive commitment of the community, but emphasizes that persistent vigilance is of essential importance.

Detectives actively examine all reported incidents and additional patrols remain in areas with reported activities.

The residents are encouraged to immediately report suspicious activities to the Bloomfield police department in order to support the ongoing efforts to maintain public security.
