Bexar County's medical examiner identifies the man who was killed by the security officer in the West Side Bar

SAN ANTONIO -A 33-year-old man who was shot in a bar in the west side was identified on Monday by the office of the medical examiner by Bexar County.

The office said that 33 -year -old Jordan Matthew Vasquez suffered at least one gunshot wound on the head and described his death as a murder.

According to the police in San Antonio, Vasquez was fatally shot by an armed security guard shortly after 2 a.m. on Friday in the Stout House location in the Potranco Road.

A preliminary report by SAPD said a fight broke out in the bar parking lot.

During the fight, a group grabbed weapons from their vehicles. Vasquez, who was part of the group, started shooting several times, said SAPD.

A 24-year-old man who worked in the bar also fired Vasquez and met Vasquez, according to the police.

Vasquez was initially brought to a hospital with a gunshot wound in a critical condition. Vasquez was later declared dead in the hospital.

A second person was taken to the hospital with injuries after being hit with a bottle, the police said.

SAPD captured the man who worked the safety of the bar and brought him to the police headquarters. After an explanation, the man was released, the police said.

It is not clear whether the indictment against the security guard will be submitted.
