Chicago Cubs Score and Summary (5/5/25): Cubs 9, Giants 2

The Cubs collided well against the Giants in Wrigley on Monday after being excluded in Milwaukee on Sunday. Chicago used a five-run-6. Inning to turn a narrow game into a blowout victory every time.

Ian Happ gave the North Siders the lead with a Homer with two runs from Landen Roupp at the end of the 3rd. San Francisco replied in the 4th Inning against Matthew Boyd when Luis Matos met a shot of two runs on the score.

Dansby Swanson covered the Cubs with a two-run single in the bottom of the frame to make them 4-2. The big offensive explosion in the 6th Inning started with Carson Kelly, who fell from Reliever Hayden Birdong. Serivating giant errors helped to load the bases with no one for Nicky Lopez, who took a walk to the forced walk and increased the edge to 6: 2.

Happ added a victim fly to achieve the score in 7: 2 and follow birdsong out of the game. Spencer Bivens replaced him and gave up a single to Seiya Suzuki, who brought two more and converted the competition into a 9-2-rout in Chicago.

The Giants made four mistakes on Monday, and the cubs left them for everyone. A bad litter of Shortstop Willy Adames in a double game in the 6th Inning was particularly expensive and led directly to four runs.

They came to beat again and the pitching was very good, which was more than enough to beat a sloppy San Francisco squad.
