Russell Westbrook makes the NBA story in Nuggets-Thunder-Game 1

The Denver Nuggets did the work with their back against the wall. After the Nuggets were covered by 13 points at six and a half minutes before the fourth quarter, they stormed back to tear down the Oklahoma City Thunder, which made an explanation in game 1 to put a 1-0 series in the lead.

Of course, Aaron Gordon was the highlight of the night after releasing the three pointer from the game, but another uncontrolled hero has remained largely unnoticed.

The experienced point Guard Russell Westbrook came from the bank for the Nuggets on Monday evening and made a real difference. The nine-time all-star set by 18 points at 7-13 shooting and had the help-based assistant to set up Gordon's three-pointer.

With its 18-point performance on Monday, Westbrook passed both Reggie Miller and Chris Paul on the NBA Playoff-Platzier ranking and took 30th place with 2,982 after-season. Westbrook now has the fifth highest playoff points of a Point Guard in NBA history.

Westbrook is rarely talked about the best point guards who have ever played the game, but he should undoubtedly be in this conversation. Westbrook is one of just seven points guards who have ever won the NBA MVP Award, and is still the youngest.
