Cincinnati Reds suffer serious losses and injuries to Tyler Callihan

Atlanta – The Cincinnati Reds faced each other on Monday, May 5, 2025, in Truist Park a hard night, since they not only lost the game against the Atlanta Braves, but also suffered one of their promising young players, Tyler Callihan, a significant injury. The Braves Slugger Matt Olson hit a runner on the base and two outs in the lower edge of the third inn. Callihan, who had played with a big league in his fourth game since his debut on April 30, bravely tried to catch the ball, but fell against the padded wall, which led to a broken left forearm.

When Callihan grabbed the ball at full speed, he could not complete the hook before colliding with the wall. The ball jumped out of his glove, and the referees ruled a non-care after a review, so Olson was able to end a Homerun in the park. The reds manager Terry Francona immediately questioned the call, but the review confirmed the decision on the field. The injury was serious enough that Callihan had to be helped by coaches from the field, visibly painful and his arm weighed.
