PAC orders an urgent examination in the alleged corruption scandal of 36 billion rupees in Kohistan

During the session, details of the alleged scandal were presented, which prompted the spokesman Swati to notice: “This does not look like a scandal of 36 billion rupees – it seems to be 200 billion RS. All relevant departments seem to participate equally in this corruption, and every institution seems to be striving to claim their share.”

The committee for public accounts (PAC) of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa meeting has serious concern about alleged large-scale financial irregularities in Kohistan and instructed an internal examination that is to be completed within three days.

The guideline was exhibited during a meeting of the committee under the chairmanship of Babar Saleem Swati, spokesman for the KP meeting, and visited by civil servants from the finance department, communication and work (C&W) and the general book of the accountant.

The spokesman called for the immediate suspension of all civil servants found in the scandal and warned that the failure to take quick measures would transform the assembly and its institutions into a public laightock. “The public must be made aware of the extent of corruption in these departments, and this has to stop,” he emphasized.

Opposition members added fuel to the fire by unveiling that massive embezzlement by fake construction companies and thousands of checks had taken place in Kohistan without an actual development budget. They claimed that individuals from outside of Kohistan are also part of the fraud, which emphasized the need to investigate the background of all financial transactions involved.

The committee instructed all affected departments to submit detailed reports in the next meeting so that legal proceedings can be initiated against those responsible.
