Two drivers die during the “catastrophic” crash at the British Superbike race

Two drivers died after an 11-bike crash in a British super sports championship race in Oulton Park on Sunday.

The 21 -year -old Owen Jenner and Shane Richardson (29) suffered fatal injuries in the first corner of the opening round in what the organizers described as a “catastrophic accident”, while the 47 Tom Tunstall suffered significant injuries to his back and belly.

Tunstall was brought to the Royal Stoke University Hospital and five other drivers were treated on the route for minor injuries. Three drivers fled out of the stack unscathed.

The British driver Jenner, who drove to Rapid Honda, died of a “catastrophic head injury,” said the MSVR.

The New Zealander Richardson died with “serious breast injuries” before he arrived at the Royal Stoke University Hospital.
