GBI examines the shot of the death of 21-year-old Georgia man

Telfair-das Georgia Bureau of Investigation examines the death of a 21-year-old Georgia man.

At the request of the Telfair County's sheriff office, the GBI agents examine the death of Jykerrion Maurice Oliver, 21, from McRA-Helena, GA.

The preliminary information shows that on April 18, 2025, the deputies of the Sheriff office of the Sheriff of Telfair were sent to a shootout at 5.10 p.m. Oliver was declared dead on site.

The shooter claimed that the shootout was in self -defense. No fees were submitted at this point.

The examination is active and continuous.
