Google accidentally licks Androids upcoming material 3 expressive design language

Before his planned announcement this month, Google accidentally published a blog post on Tuesday with details about thinking behind the development of materials 3 expressive, its open source design system.

Post shared the research behind the design of the interface, as 9to5Google was reported and the post stored in the Wayback machine shared the now deleted contribution. The company's thinking process behind the company's “expressive design” was to make the user interface easier and less “boring”.

“The basic parts of the expressive design are the use of color, shape, size, movement and containment,” said the post office. “These design aspects are also of fundamental importance for what makes a product more usable by drawing attention to what is important in the interface: to highlight key campaigns and how to group elements.”

In the post office it was found that the elements researched included:

  • Progress indicators: Which waiting time was waiting faster?
  • Key: How big can you improve the TAP time without overwhelming the screen?
  • Floating toolbar: How can you be noticeable and usable?

Google did not immediately respond to a request for comments.
