The Trump administration announced that migrants, with the CBP home app, which was once used to search for asylum, offer an incentive of $ 1,000, which was once used.

The Department of Homeland Security put the monetary incentive away as a cheaper (for the government) and “dignified” to leave the country. In the past few months, the department has worked on increasing the speed and number of arrests, arrests and removal of immigrants without legal status-a costly and resource-intensive endeavor.

The department estimates that the average costs for the arrest, detention and removal of someone without legal status is around $ 17,121.

Officials from the immigration authority have determined that the capacity of detention is triggered at a maximum and that the administration tries to optimize distances.

Trump's Grenzzar Tom Homan told Fox News on Monday that more than 7,000 people had used the app since they were renamed asylum questions to promote distances.

Officials canceled asylum dates in the app within a few hours after President Trump's inauguration in January. The administration then launched new efforts last month, which asked migrants to “leave the app immediately”.

The administration is committed to the fact that migrants would prefer to leave the country than to be arrested by immigration officers and to face a fine – a choice that many are now apart.

DHS also announced that he has already used the incentive to transport someone from Chicago to Honduras. The agency added that people without legal status booked additional flight tickets for this and next week.

But supporters of immigrants are skeptical. Even if some people can take over the administration for their offer, the supporters of immigration say that most do not believe that they will ever receive the incentive and are finally able to apply for legal status, as the administration suggested.

DHS did not answer questions how many people should be paid and how the incentive is issued.

According to estimates of 2022, there are around 11 million people without legal status in the country.

“They are clearly not in contact with reality that families and communities and individuals in this country with a migration background and why they are here at all,” said Esther Reyes, campaign strategist for the coalition of the immigrant families.

According to Reyes, families who have been targeted for these messaging have felt the risk of a distance in a long time.

“Many afraid that the communities have been there for a long time; especially for people who are here without any legal status, there is a risk every day,” said Reyes. “Unfortunately, people are used to the threats, whether small or large who come in the way regularly.”
