FWC, to obtain comments on the alleged bear attack, in which the 89-year-old man, dog in Collier County, was killed

Jerome, Florida (WCTV)-The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is expected to take a suspected bear attack on Tuesday afternoon, in which an 89-year-old man and a dog were killed in Collier County on Monday morning.

The press conference is expected to start around 12:30 p.m.

The Collier County's office received reports at 7 a.m. about an encounter with bears in Jerome, Florida.

According to Robert Markel's family, he slept in his trailer when a bear entered the house and attacked him. According to his family, his body was found in the forest.

FWC agents killed a bear about 100 feet from the house, in which the markers and his dog were found dead.
