Sam Presti of Thunder was appointed NBA Basketball Executive of the Year

The Executive Vice President and General Manager of Oklahoma City Thunder Thunder, Sam Presti, was appointed NBA Basketball Executive in 2024-25.

Presti acquired the annual honor for the first time. Previously, he finished second in the vote (2009-10, 2019-20 and 2023-24).

Presti gathered a team that achieved an NBA leadership of 68-14 in the regular 2024-25 season, which achieved the sixth best record in the history of the league. Oklahoma City set up the NBA record to evaluate differentially and achieve opponents by 12.9 points per game.

Most recently, the player acquisitions of Presti, the Wache Alex Caruso and the Center Isaiah Hartenstein belonged outside the season. Caruso, a KIA NBA All-Defensive team selection in each of the two previous seasons, scored an average of 7.1 points and 1.61 steals per game and helped the NBA in Oklahoma City this season (106.6). In his first season, Hartenstein scored an average career height of 11.2 points, 10.7 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game.

Presti is in his 18th season with the Thunder franchise after being appointed General Manager in June 2007. Previously, he spent seven years with the San Antonio Spurs and rose from the video intern to Vice President/Deputy General Manager.
