Sprinklersmarts Live -Stream event will complete Home Fire Sprinkler Week

Winner of the Sprinklersmarts feed the fire station is announced

Quincy, MA 5 May 2025 – In every community, house fires represent the residents and reacting firefighters a serious threat. House fires can be fatal in just two minutes, so that residents can only escape for a minimal time to escape toxic smoke and intensive heat. In response to this persistent challenge of public security, fire departments and security lawyers across North America will work together for the Home Fire Sprinkler Week from May 11th to 17th. Together they become the critical message that the fire is fast, celebrate in detail, sprinklers are faster.

The week is completed with the Sprinkler-Live stream eventPlanned for Friday, May 16, 10 a.m. PT, 1 p.m. National fire protection leaders will discuss the reasons why house fires are a threat to the residents and the reacting firefighters, why it is important to protect all new houses with fire sprinkles and the costs for communities if new houses are not protected, the effectiveness of fire sprinkles and fire protection risks such as lithium-in batteries and free resources that the fire brigade supports.

The event is sponsored by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), the National Fire Sprinkler Association (NFSA), the Home Fire Sprinkler Coalition (HFSC) and the fire protection research institute, part of the UL Research Institute (FSRI). Fire Sprinkler Advisory Board from PUGET SOUND delivers the demonstration trailer. The regional fire authority of PUGET SOUND provides fire fighting and equipment. The speakers include:

  • James Boulanger, Patriot Fire Protection, NFSA chairman of the Board of Directors
  • Lorraine Carli, HFSC President/NFPA VP for Outreach and Advocacy
  • Nicole Sanders, research strengthening lead, fire protection research institute, part of the UL research institutes (FSRI)
  • Boss Josh Waldo, Bozeman Fire Department, IAFC President
  • Vickie Pritchett, Vice President, Advocacy & Outreach, NFSA, host

The NFSA President Shane Ray will carry out a live fire and sprinkler demonstration and emphasize how quickly a fire in the unsprayed space becomes fatal compared to the space protected with a fire sprinkler. The winner of the Sprinklersmarts feeds the fire brigade school. The winner receives a meal of her choice worth 1,000 US dollars to feed the fire station.
