Heavy storm clock this afternoon, flood clock until Wednesday afternoon

The National Weather Service has published a serious storm guard for Central New York, including ITHACA and TOMPKINS COUNTY, which will come into force until 8 p.m. on Tuesday at 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Thunderstorms move north to the region and “should report reporting and intensity this afternoon if they generally move north,” says the national weather service.

According to a warning on Tuesday afternoon, the threats from today's storms could include harmful wind gusts of up to 70 km / h and a large hail with a diameter of up to 1.5 inches.

Heavy rain of slow storms could mean that fall floods are. “Excessive drainage can lead to flooding of rivers, streams, streams and other low -lying and endangered locations,” says a flood warning from NWS Binghadton. “Breaks and streams can rise from their banks. Floods can occur in bad drainage and urban areas.”
