Lawson continued to succeed in ending the season in the SEC with 76 tackles, including 6.5 duels for losses and two sacks, ninth place, even though they did not end the season healthy. He did not take part in spring practice with Alabama, but he continues to show signs of improvement, according to Kalen Deboer, the head coach of Alabama Football.

“He's fine,” said Deboer about Al.com. “I know that this was in December, a bit of a hard hit for him, thought of NFL, and he was on the best way, in this direction. Leader, himself not on the soccer field.

Lawson will probably continue to be a leader on the defensive side of the soccer field if he returns to training in autumn.
