PM -Tusk comments on the apartment scandal with PIS presidential candidate Nawrocki

During a press conference in the Netherlands on Monday, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk admitted that, like many in Poland, he follows the ongoing presidential campaign.

With regard to the controversy to the apartment, Tusk made his position clear and explained that the situation “smells bad”. The politician suggested that the affair had serious ethical concerns and the public discomfort, which indicates that Nawrocki's actions – acquired the apartment of an older man – could be considered morally questionable and could possibly damage his reputation and campaign.


“If I understand correctly, Mr. Nawrocki should take care of Mr. Jerzy – but instead he takes care of his apartment. So you could ask: Is he the person we want to take care of Poland?” Prime Minister Tusk said with a touch of irony.

PM Tusk is reminiscent of real estate scandals with PIS numbers

In a subsequent article, which was shared on X (formerly Twitter), PM Tusk referred to several similar real estate scandals in which the right -wing populist members of the Law and Justice (PIS) were involved, which had previously made headlines in Poland.

“Mateusz, Karol, Jarosław, Joachim-Sie should all be in housing. Land, apartments, skyscrapers, renovation work … all cheap or free. You will not find better,” Tusk mocked and remembered scandals at the former Morawiecki acquisitions of the big properties of the Catholic churches and other stages.

Some of them remain unresolved, with figures like Jarosław Kaczyński and Joachim Brudiński still confronted a legal examination of their participation.


Controversy about the PIS presidential candidate Nawrocki intensified

On Tuesday, Onet.pl reported that Anna Kanigowska, a social worker who took care of Mr. Jerzy – reported an older man whose apartment was taken over by the PIS president Nawrocki – accused the politician not to provide any real support than the property of the man.

The woman claimed that Nawrocki had wrongly stated that he had paid the supply calculations for the apartment.

The city of GDIKTK later announced that it was the local authorities, not Nawrocki who had covered Mr. Jerzy's care in a nursing home because the older man needs support around the clock.
