The recruitment of Atlanta PD dance videos aims to show “human side of police work”

Atlanta – The Atlanta police are viral because of its latest recruitment efforts, a lively music video with the title “Boots on the Ground”, which shows officials who dance, sing and laugh. Fox 5 reported.

The optimistic video, which quickly spreads on social media, is part of a wider recruitment campaign that aims to manage the continuous personnel challenges. According to Courtney Murphy, who contributed to the development of the concept, the goal was that there are real people with families, emotions and passion for their communities behind the uniform.

“I wanted to show the human side of surveillance,” said Murphy. “I want people to see that there is actually a person behind the uniform. We are sons and daughters, mothers and fathers, and we have souls.”

APD is currently hiring a variety of positions and, according to the report, focuses a special focus on increasing the number of female officers. Women currently account for around 20% of the department with the aim of reaching 30% by 2030.

So far, more than 5,000 people have applied for APD this year, and 118 have been discontinued.

“Things look really positive for us, but we still want to continue to build up a force, because while we continue, people will retire,” said Murphy. “Not only that, but the city grows quickly. And when the city grows, the police also have to grow with it.”

In addition to the competitive content, APD offers advantages such as childcare, housing and tuition fees, peer support, chaplain and a wellness center. Officers also have access to advertising exams.

“So, many people said they know they want a career, but that is not a career for me,” said Murphy. “It is a lifestyle. It is a family. And if you join a family and have this lifestyle and want to be part of it, Atlanta is the only place where you can go.”
