Spotsylvania man charged with murder when shooting the death of the teenager

A man from Spotsylvania County was arrested on Tuesday and, due to murder second degree, malicious wound and two charges of a firearm in the inspection of a crime, charged three days after the death of a senior of the Massaponax High School.

The 27 -year -old Tyler Butler is held in the Rappahannock regional prison under no bond.

The MPs reacted to the 2700 Block of the McKenzie Lane in the Subdivision River Club in the early Saturday morning and found that Michael Bosworth Jr., 18, had been shot in the upper body, and a young person was grazed by a ball and had a small wound. A third teenager was intact.

Bosworth, member of the Lacrosse, football and wrestling teams in Massaponax, later died in Mary Washington Hospital.

The first reports about the shootout showed that the Sheriff's office of Spotsylvania received a break -in of residential areas at 3 a.m. and the resident fired shots on the alleged intruders.

However, a search command showed that one of the teenagers announced Detective that they played a game called “Ding-Dong Ditch”, in which the pranksters ring the doorbells and the run of someone, so that when the residents arrives, nobody is on the doorstep. They had cleared other houses in the neighborhood, recorded the pranks on their phone and uploaded the videos on Tikkok, said the teenager.

The teenager added that a man was shoting at her while running away to hide. There are no claims from authorities that the teenagers were armed.

Butler has a hearing on May 14th in front of the Hampton General District Court due to a non -related offense for violating a protection order.
