New York Soldier Terror attack confirmed death

The New York state police confirmed that a soldier died after a terrorist attack.

The New York state police expressed the death of a retired investigator “with deep sadness”.

The retired investigator Thomas K. Herrick died on April 12, 2025. After the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, he died of an illness of September 11th.

“His death is a solemn memory of the permanent tribute that was worn by those who reacted selflessly after this tragic day,” said Steven G. James, superintendent of the New York state police.

26 years of service

Herrick worked for the New York state police for 26 years and retired in August 2009. He was most recently assigned to the troop L -Jotion command team, where it served with the award, the police said.

He survived from his wife and three children.

“We are expanding the family, friends and former colleagues in the Herrick family in this difficult time,” said the New York State Police in a press release. “The New York State Police stands together to honor Herrick's service and victims.”

In Beth Page, New York, set to rest

Herrick's funeral is planned for Tuesday in the Roman Catholic Church of St. Martin in Bethpage, New York.
