DJI seems to prepare to enter the 360-degree action camera space with a device that could compete with the popular models from Insta360. Poured-out images of a new dual objective camera, which are called OSMO 360, which has so far been clearly seen by the company's unpublished spherical shooters.

The leaks come from the well -known DJI insider Igor Bogdanov, who has posted a number of photos that show what it is a prototype -OSMO 360 unit. In addition to the product images, Bogdanov also shared recordings of the internal hardware and a quick start manual, which indicates several important specifications and functions.

What we know so far

The design of the OSMO 360 is particularly compact and box -shaped and in contrast to the elongated form factor of the Insta360 X5. The camera measures about 6.5 cm wide and 9 cm high and has a small LCD touchscreen and three physical buttons on one side. At the base there is a standard tripod assembly with four exposed copper contacts, which indicates the possibility of accessory communication or APL load.

According to the guide, the OSMO 360 Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 supports and contains a microSD card slot. It is also mentioned that physical accessory holders, a common need in action cam workflows. The camera is to be operated in extreme temperatures in the range of -20 ° C to 45 ° C, which corresponds to the robust standards defined by other action cams.

One of the strangest design details lies in the sensor placement. Instead of positioning sensors directly behind each lens, the OSMO 360 prototype uses a 45-degree mirror to reflect on the side of the lens on the side of the lens to reflecting sensors-a technique that was found in the INSTA360 X5. However, it is worth noting that this setup could change before a possible publication.

The OSMO 360 allegedly uses a 1950 mAh battery and supports USB-C load via DJI's standard 30-W charger. The camera will also integrate into the DJI Mimo app, which is already used in the company's Osmo and pocket pipes.

Despite the extensive leaks, it is unclear whether DJI intends to publicly start the OSMO 360. Dji Tipste Jasper Ellens expressed skepticism and issued a complete lack of retail leaks and limited information from sources, which usually receive in advance of the publication. “It is even more mysterious than the DJI Mavic 4 or Mini 5,” said Ellens, adding that US tariffs could continue to make a successful start in a competitive and sensitive market.

The Max. 360 from GoPro currently costs 349 US dollars at B&H Photo, while the Insta360 x 549 US dollar costs, which means that the price limit for DJI can be determined if it wants to compete with each other seriously. At the moment, the OSMO 360 remains unannounced-but the leak suggests that DJI at least examines the 360-degree format more seriously than ever.
