Chatham, Ill. (AP) -The authorities said on Tuesday that they believe that an accident through an Illinois building after the school where three children were killed and a teenager was not targeted.

A car drove through a field and then hit through a building in a small town of Chatham in front of Springfield, Illinois on Monday afternoon. In an update on Tuesday morning, the police said that two 7-year-old, an 8-year-old and an 18-year-old were killed. Six other children were brought to hospitals and one remains in a critical condition.

The Illinois driver, who was not injured, was taken to a hospital for evaluation, and the police said that toxicological reports were pending. The police did not say whether the driver was arrested or taken into custody.

The cause was examined, but the police said that the crash does not seem to be a targeted attack.

The crash on Monday was the youngest instance of people who drove vehicles in groups of people around the world. Just two days earlier, a car plowed through an overcrowded street during a Filipino inheritance festival in Vancouver, British Columbia and killed 11.

He said his office had monitored the situation and was ready to give support.

When the evening fell on Monday, police cars led with lights that were still blocked by the streets that led to the building. The Chatham police department asked for prayers on his Facebook account.

“A terrible tragedy occurred here that affected us all,” the news ended.

By Monday evening, some members of the community and beyond had changed their Facebook profile photos into a picture of a red band and the words “Chatham Strong”.
