The Los Angeles Angels must be fed up with getting bad news about their franchise slugger.

Since the signing of a 12-year extension of $ 426 million before the 2019 campaign, Mike Trout has reached the injured list in five different seasons. His most recent stay takes place after he had suffered a bone bloody cast in a surgically repaired left knee during a recent game against the Seattle Mariners.

“I shaved two meniscus with the doctors and I just hit it perfectly on my pocket,” said Trout according to ESPN. “Both bones met each other and I injured both of us.”

In conversation with reporters after the injury, Trout was optimistic that he was able to return after a 10-day stay. He suggested that the disease was the result of an unlikely game, which indicated that the years of wear on his body were a chronic problem.

But the angels could have a reason for more concern, since Stephania Bell, analyst of ESPN Injury, questions with this framework.

“Trout's comment that there is nothing” structural “with his knee, while understandable from him, since there is no great visible tissue failure, it is questionable,” wrote Bell. “The knowledge that trout had two injuries to the same knee in 2024 increases the suspicion of a knee that is now more predisposed to early degenerative changes.”

In her update, Bell found that even a moving trout in an exclusive certain hitter roll would not be sufficient in order to escape the risk of further injury. And she threw the initial timeline for recovery.

“Apart from the resolution, trout's optimism can take longer than just 10 days for both the symptoms to come loose and to resume unrestricted baseball activity for it,” she added.

Since Trout tried to stay on the field, baseball fans have lost one of the most talented players in the history of the game. Hopefully, despite Bell's concern, he can find a way after this last setback to stay healthy and productive.
