Winona e-bike rider killed in the crash; Solid glare suspected

Winona, MN (Kroc-am News) -The State Patrol supports the Winona police in studying a fatal collision in which a car and an e-bike are involved.

A statement by the Winona police department shows that the fatal incident took place on Monday around 8 p.m. A car drives west in 6th Street with the battery -operated bike near the intersection with the Liberty Street.

A preliminary investigation showed that glare from the setting sun may have contributed to a factor.

The driver of the e-bike, who was only identified as a 67-year-old man, suffered fatal injuries. The Winona police also did not publish the name of the 54-year-old man who drives the car.
